With THC drinks, lots of smokers are putting down their vapes and turning to products like Olala. But what about the drinkers? Are they changing their preferences too? In our opinion, they should be coming straight to Olala beverages, but there is another trend that seems even wilder: vaping alcohol.
Recently, a company called Vapshot was featured on BuzzFeed for their revolutionary new product that turns alcohol into vaporized “shots”. It sounds interesting and like a cool way to take your favorite alcoholic beverage. Sadly this is not the case with how detrimental it is to your health
Alcohol vapors are produced by heating it up or pouring it over dry ice and It’s absorbed into your bloodstream rapidly once you inhale the vapors. It gets you drunk faster and is basically zero calories, so what’s the big deal? Well, according to the National Capital Poison Center, when you inhale those vapors you can’t really tell the amount that goes in and the alcohol goes straight to the brain. Yikes. Alcohol vapor also injures the lungs and can put you in the hospital for alcohol poisoning in the blink of an eye.
By vaping alcohol, you can inhale several drinks within seconds, and this greatly heightens the risk of serious consequences such as extreme inhibition & alcohol poisoning. Usually, when you’ve drunk too much your body forces you to vomit as a safety measure to protect itself, but with vaping, you don’t have those mechanisms since the vapors go straight into your bloodstream via your lungs. This leaves you open to the danger of losing consciousness and the potential to stop breathing.
Studies on alcohol inhalation with rats have also shown that those who are exposed to this method of intoxication may experience an increase in anxious behaviors. The anxiety can also become worse during the withdrawal period in cases where a person has developed a dependency
However, with cannabis drinks, this is the complete opposite!
Drinks with THC and CBD are a great way to kick back and relax as a low-risk alcohol alternative! A way safer choice than smoking, since you can enjoy yourself inside (or out) with your alcohol-drinking friends and get a safer, more flavorful experience without the hangover!
Drinking THC-infused beverages isn’t only fun, it’s healthy! Some of the basic benefits include:
Pain relief
Reduces inflammation ( Medical marijuana has been found to reduce inflammation associated with many autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis, inflammatory bowel disease, and lupus.)
Protects the brain
Promotes digestive health
Mood enhancer
Now think about that pro and cons list with alcohol and you’ll see why people are moving over to our side of the party. The party for your body, soul, and mind involves cannabis-infused beverages!
So should you vape (or drink) alcohol? The quick answer is you can, but the center for poison control agrees that there are safer options to liven up your night. Like possibly trying out a guava-flavored THC drink instead.
